The Scare times
Nuclear annihilation fear. It is real, I can feel it, never experienced it before.
A palpable, domineering presence. Presence, burden, acknowledgement, mostly in the background, allowing the daily routines, chores and worries to continue, reduced though in significance. And a sickening sensation of being powerless, at the hand of disgusting and stupid and evil individuals, known and unknown, who deserve only a quick and harsh justice.
At least, the important things in life regain their deserved place and attention. Starting with life itself.
The reality of death upon you. Like the war in Ukraine or the massacre in Gaza weren’t enough to prove it. Apparently they weren’t, apparently they aren’t. Nothing like a good nuclear end-times scare to remind you how little and how important existence is.
What about tomorrow ? If it comes.
If it comes and leaves room for the next tomorrow, we better wake up for good. We have a lot of cleaning to do, too much filth long due for removal has been choking us.
Don’t waste the experience of the scare, if we are lucky enough to escape, again, or you’ll be cursed to suffer it constantly from now on. You can’t get used to it. Not the climate scare bullshit, not the Faucistas quickly discernable act of terror, not the real, but ultimately manageable dire situations you and society may find yourselves in, this one gets to your core, connects you with the chain of life before and ravages you with the thought that you may be the witness and the accomplice of a horrible all-encompassing end. Makes you aware. Sociopaths are immune, this is why we must root out the danger they represent.
